EQCA Wrong to Put off Prop 8 vote till 2012!

I am officially turned off by Equality California. My erection, as a pillar of support, for this gay rights organization has officially went limp. Kind of like how their stance on proposition 8 and voter's opinion has went in the last few weeks. Apparently they don't believe that the votes will be there in 2010, and if we go ahead with that ballot initiative so soon, it will weaken our chances for 2012. But pre tell EQ, if the initiative fails in 2012 what will we do then? Will we simply give up until 2020? Or do you think an entire 16 years (2028) will suffice?

I ask this stupid questions because delaying the vote 2 more years is a stupid answer. I know some of you feel that we should "be kind and rewind" but give me a break. The safe route has been delt with for the last forty years. The only people who give a flying fuck about anything regarding gay rights and a protest and San Francisco, and even then, they're not pulling hair and causing police riots like they used to. Moscow got in on the action earlier this year, but come on, when doesn't a russian miss the chance to throw a good punch and a drinking party? Aside from that, we had one of the weakest campaigns in the history of poltical fights. We took the high road, but not just any high road. We took the high road that has a detour that winds all the way around the gawd-damn mountain, once around the river bend, and twice over the grand canyon. That was our highroad.
What road did Mary Gallagher and her cronies take? The one to your local church. They took that road to your prime time television station to tell your friends and family members that we're going to indoctrinate their children (Which I wish we would, by the way). They took that road that said if they failed, they would come back as soon as possible with every out of state big pocketed loser who was stupid enough to support them. They took the road that had people who claimed, just because we support the initiative to take your rights away doesn't mean you have the right to boycott my business (some of them even compared us to communist China).

I don't know how to put it any simpler. You don't put this on the 2010 ballot, you lose whatever momentum you have going forward. People were shamed after Prop 8 passed. Even the gay community with its lackluster turn out and low profile. But who should really be ashamed are the people of Equality California, who after taking 8 months to watch the "No on 8" campaign squander record breaking silos of cash on everday soap box commercials without any depth or usable content whatsoever, or a yard sign in a "No on 8" campaign office in a 20 mile radius, they will sit back and do the same for the next four fucking years. So go ahead EQUALITY CAlifornia. Give us another disappointing November 5th.

Utah State Senator and colleagues Embarass entire country

Update: ABC 4 may have removed the video from their website but Utah State Senator Buttars was interviewed for a documentary on Proposition 8. The man in question has stated “You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known,” Hardaway said. “I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don’t like it. It shouldn’t be in the world or in the United States.”
Other dribble is as follows:
“What is the morals of a gay person? You can’t answer that because anything goes.”
When confronted about such comments and the controversy Buttars only defense would be, “They’re [gays and lesbians] mean. They want to talk about being nice. They’re the meanest buggers I have ever seen.”
Buttars also mentioned something about homosexual sex being equipped with their partners feces and smearing of some sort. Nothing too offensive.

The next video is a follow up press conference from Friday morning where Senator Buttars is announced to be stripped of his chairmanship of two committees. The president of the Utah State senate goes into little tangents about how proud he and the state of Utah are of Senator Buttars as well as how he and his constituents agree with what Senator Butters said, just "Maybe" not how he said it.

It's days after proposition 8 is passed and Johnathon Lopez is giving a speech in his "Public Speech" Class at LA city college. But his speech is passionate and irrefutable. After all, Lopez is quoting the bible on his super effective assignment in which he argues why gay marriage should be banned. Not even halfway through his speech though, professor John Mattson cuts the student off siting his obvious fascist and bastardly approach to the subject. Professor Mattson also allowed himself to tell students they could leave if they were offended and at least three of them did.

According to several news outlets, Johnathan Lopez is suing LA City College due to its staff infringing on his 1st amendment rights. Being a student though, Lopez must succumb to the financial burden of youth. So who is Mr. Lopez represented by? The Alliance Defense Fund, a radical christian association based in none other then Scottsdale AZ. Why is it that out of state religious zealots always find that California's business is their business. Will their lawyer also ask the school to reimburse them for transportation fees? Because that would just be ridiculous.

But the interesting story on this little perk of a jerk in our courts is that James Dobson founded the association. The same James Dobson who wastes more of a person's time preaching legendary family values by founding "Focus on the Family". So there must be catch and there most certainly is in these desperate times. The Alliance Defense Fund is attempting to strip our schools of the illegality surrounding hate speech. So when you call me a faggot I can say, "Well I'm going to bring the legal smack down on you." and Jame's Dobson is going to dance around me like a ballerina in celebration singing, "You can't because his hate speech is legal now. In your face you incredulous gay you!"
That's right. James Dobson will call me an incredulous gay if he wins. I don't even know what that means. That's how offensive it is.

This quote from the LA Times: "In addition to financial damages, the suit, filed last week in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, seeks to strike down a sexual harassment code barring students from uttering "offensive" statements."

That's right.I am also disturbed that the lawyers of The Alliance Defense Fund are more concerned with students being able to use the word Gay offensively as well as faggot, queer, rug muncher, dyke, pussy galore, fudge packer, and cock monger then they are about their clients hurt feelings. I don't agree with the professor's pursuit of happiness. It was unprofessional, I'll admit. But it's so crazy, it just might actually work. Calling a student a fascist bastard in front of the whole class may make this punk think twice before he starts giving speeches on why gay people shouldn't be able to marry the love of their life (Or pull a britney). What The Alliance Defense Fund doesn't realize though is that it's opening up a can of california worms that can never be closed. Not only will it be legal for religious radicals to shout fear inducing epithets at anyone, but it will be legal for those being shouted at to shout back. It will be legal for you and I to carry banners that say, "Jesus was a cock sucking maniac!" Alongside other number one hits such as, "God had premarital sex!" and "Mary was a dyke."

We could also walk around with disturbing pictures of sexual inuendo and preaching about what a family is really about. What a single mother could do that a two parent household never could. Why why why ... WHY!?

I've gotta say, I'm pretty sick and tired of hearing it. The constant hum drum of the bully crying, "BULLY!" Is it just me, or are the Yes on Prop 8 people down yonder in Californ-I-yay being a tad bit too pleantiful with the tom bitchery? Didn't think so. So when I hear people from other states who donated to the "Yes on 8" campaign feign this complete theatrical victimized monologue about how the gays are getting all kinds of crazy, excuse me while I smother myself with a pillow.

I'm sorry Maureen (no I'm not). Did you just contradict yourself and then reiterate your contradiction? Artists aren't in the habit of telling other artists what's best? So what in the hell did you think you were doing when you not only voted on November 4th, no doubt, but sent your monies to a purely ideological californian campaign purely on the basis of your ideologies that your ideals are ideologically superior, such as when you say, "marriage is the union of husband and wife--a premise so simple, so fundamental that nature and civilization itself both testify to the truth of it."

Constantly people bring up the bible when they talk about Gay Marriage and constantly they bring up Leviticus and then some and constantly I shake my head because of the arthritis all the shaking my head is going to give me in the future.

I mean come on people! The bible says man shall not lay with man like he lays with a woman because it's frakkin' nasty. But has anywhere ever asked why? The bible doesn't go into too much detail there. Jesus doesn't explicitly come out and say, "Oh don't be gay, don'tcha know. It's bad for the environment. Kittens will die ay." Because Jesus obviously has a Canadian accent. And Mary. Mary has got to be the biggest fag hag there ever was. Nothing says coming out party better than the "Immaculate Conception." I mean, what did everyone think was implied? You know, the bible says a lot of things and I swear I'd never let it talk to me like that. I mean seriously, if my Websters Dictionary every said something as stupid, "Stone that menstruating bitch!" I'd beat it.

No one asks why enough anymore. These people at the Yes on 8 campaign think that just because they're being targeted for criticism (lord knows they want violence to befall one of their own just so they can exploit the SOB) they can call the gays nazis. Look at how they're trying to play the gays and black community against each other. Trying to focus on one or two silly homos who stupidly shout the "N" word and claim that the entire gay population has an unforseen problem with racism. Give me a break. Maureen Mullarkey compares the gays to Nazis saying that her being called a hypocrite is familiar of the brownshirt tactics the nazis used. Can someone hit her with an immaculate tree branch or something?

If you donated something to a political campaign your putting your principals forth. You're not sitting there crossing your fingers hoping that Bill O'Reilly or Ann Coulter will feel sorry for you. Speaking of principal, has anyone seen Ted Haggard's dignity? I think he lost it in an airport stall. Oh wait, that was another social conservative.

Ted Haggard, You Gay Bucket

I can't help but to have this distressing feeling whenever I hear Ted Haggard news. It's like this parochial wave of religiosity comes streaming out of his mega-church and sweeps up all the gayness in this net of doom bringing back to his layer at a later point, hundreds of innocent barely out of high school aged boys for his delight. That's what I feel when I hear Ted Haggard news.
Haggard was on Oprah today to grieve like his mother just spanked him. Not because of his previous faux gay encounter but because another boy just shot out of the water spout saying that he had a consensual relationship with the hypocrite preacher.

What's even more amazing is that Haggard with his infinite evangelical wisdom (which is so much different from Christian wisdom) is promoting a new reality t.v. show. It only showcases his family values that he would put his entire family through the pains of an embarrassing nationwide theater show just to make a dirty buck. Family values indeed.

But Haggard is a part of something so much greater. Like the wide stance of Senator Larry Craig, he is one of those firm believers that in denial, he will show nation that he is happy. He isn't fooling himself though. No. Teddy is far too smart than to try and fool himself. If he wanted to fool himself, he would be an HBO miniseries (wait...). Ted is merely a monstrous symbol of the Christian and Mormon church that practice repression as a form of good faith. As Queers get excommunicated or tortured into going straight, the families of each and every homosexual is given false hope. Please! Don't be alarmed though. Ignorance is bliss right? I mean, why would you not want your child to live a lie? It's in his or her or its best interest to revel in a life long debacle. I mean, in most cases you only see a forty year old man come out to his wife of ten years and ruin his family of four, therefore giving up his house with a two car garage and hillside view. Parents are good.
Ex-gays are about as successful at being, well, ex-gays as rapper Eminem is at being Elton John's best man. Personally, I only tried to repress my gayness for about sixteen years but I mean, pfft, that's child's play compared to Haggard's new career. The importance of this Haggard and his indescretions is what breaths life into the Cerritos College Queeer Straight Alliance. Visibility is something so important to the Gay Rights movement. You see a gay man and you think, "Hair. Outfit. *cough*". Then you see two gay men in a relationship and you thin, "Hair. Outfit. *Scratches eyebrow* Oh, they exist!".
When people know the gays exist, people will accept the gays existance. Perhaps one day the knowleadge will spread like bad cholesteral and others won't be so afraid to jump out and yell, "SURPRISE! I'm totally gay."
